Camel Coated

DSC_0632camel3

Camel coats have been a huge trend this Autumn/Winter. Too big of a trend some may argue as it seems everyone and their dog has worn one this season. I’ve always loved the classic, sophisticated look of camel coloured coats though their popularity this season put me off getting one to call my own. When something becomes a huge trend, 90% of the time, this puts me off from purchasing.

If it wasn’t for ASOS’ Assistant Buyer for coats giving this beauty to me as a freebie (score!!) I still wouldn’t own a camel coat and most likely would’ve waited until the current trend for them drifted away. I love the waterfall collar on this particular camel coat style. The look of the coat depends on how you adjust its giant collar, which is great. Most important to me is it’s warmth. I love a good fashion piece but I’ve always had a ‘practicality/comfort over fashion’ approach to my wardrobe. Every winter I notice poorly made coats on the high-street and sadly so many people purchase them because they look good. I’ve always figured what’s the point in investing in an item that’s meant to keep you warm but doesn’t?! Especially as high-street prices are continuously rising.

Have you invested in a camel coat this season?

I’m wearing:

Coat – ASOS (currently on sale! Get it here)

Jeans – Topshop

High neck sweater – ASOS

Heels – Topshop Premium ‘Ghillie’ (my current a/w faves!)

Handbag – Topshop
